Club Med - Palmiye Turkey - June 2016

I wasn't too sure what to expect from Club Med or from Turkey in these tempestuous times. But on arrival I must say I felt completely safe with the security measures put in place both at the airport and within the holiday complex.

Club Palmiye is made up of the main hotel block and the village which consists of several rows of rooms separated by fruit trees. All the rooms are clean and quite contemporary albeit a bit on the basic side. This complex is run on an all inclusive basis but the fridges are not filled unless you stay in a suite - then it is only soft drinks. Although you can pay extra for this.

Meal times are self service at breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am not a fan of this set up but the choice of food is amazing. Of the likes in an all inclusive that I have never seen before. So much of it is freshly cooked as well. Wine is served by the bottle at meal times, red, white or rose - all served cold ! In the evening there is also a choice of eating in one of two a la carte restaurants which are situated by a duck and geese pond. The service and food here again is excellent and not served in a rushed manner.

Drinks are all served by real glasses not plastic as in many all inclusive hotels. Many main stream brands are available, as well as a cocktail list.

Club Med gets its very good reputation from offering a wide variety of sports such as water skiing, the flying trapeze, diving to name but a few are all available here as well. The choice of 5 pools plus 2 adult only pools spoil you for choice. There is also a spa, hamman and hairdressers all on site.

The Club Med grounds are what really suprised me, they absolutely blew me away. They were immaculately kept and reminded me of being in an Alice in Wonderland scene with many quirky shaped trees and bushes.

Every evening entertainment was available in the open arena with a variety of shows on offer for all age groups.

The best night though was Friday night when the hotel arranged 'White Night'. Guests were invited to to wear white to their buffet extravaganza, where all the tables where dressed in white cloths and candleabras. The food choice widened to sushi, caviar, hog roast to name but a few. While a 4 person band played to fireworks. Truly amazing.

There really is something here to suit all ages, sporty or non sporty, old or young while offering a very high standard of all inclusive.
