Ischia and Amalfi

On the first day we met with our leader at the Easyjet check in area. Chi=ecking in with Easyjet was very easy as boarding passes were printed before departure. After landing we then commenced our 2 hour journey to Naples port by coach where we boarded the hydrofoil to Ischia and were met by the local representative Mina who transfered us to the first hotel.

Hotel Terme Manzi

This hotel was quite opulent, with a  mixture of Italian and Arabian influence in the décor. The hotel had a beautiful spa with indoor thermal pool facility, as well as roof top swimming pool for relaxing. The food was a la carte and of an extremely high standard.

It was a 30 minute transfer to the next hotel followed by 10 minute walk through the village to the hotel entrance.  The village is partially pedestrianised and so the coach was unable to take us to the door.  Our luggage was transferred by golf buggy.

Hotel Miramare in S.Angelo

We visited the hotel’s thermal pools.  The pools are located a 10 minute walk along the coast partially through hotel grounds and then public grounds.  These pools are open to the general public, but are free to hotel guests.  There are a series of pools with varying temperatures, plus sunbathing area, restaurant and small beach. Please note in high season, guests in higher room categories have priority on sunbeds located on a private beach.

In the evening we had dinner at the hotel which was a buffet option as a starter, followed by the a la carte.  This was served indoors followed by drinks on the terrace.

The following morning we had breakfast at The Miramare- wide selection of hot and cold buffet breakfast with freshly squeezed blood orange juice and cappuccinos!  Following this we were given a trip around the hotel in a golf buggy as the grounds are quite spread out across the cliffside.  There is a small church perched on the top and the views are spectacular out over Capri. The next hotel on the agenda was the Garden Villas Resort. This was a beautiful property with a large selection of room categories. It had a wonderful pool area with a 10 minute downhill walk to the beach and Negombo Thermal Pools (payable locally at approx 30euros per person per day)

Hotel Moresco in Ischia Porte

One of the most sought after properties on the island of Ischia, located within 5/10 minute walk of the main shopping street as well as the harbour, castle and beach. Hotel has a thermal spa, outdoor pool and gym facilities.

Free Time was had by all at 8pm at the Moresco.

Le Agavi- Situated on the outskirts of Positano. Hotel offers a free shuttle bus into Positano

Covo dei Saraceni + lunch. Great location, directly on the beach in Positano.  Restaurant has lovely views.  Food fantastic

Hotel le Sirenuse – exclusive hotel situated overlooking the bay and the town of Positano.  Hotel has the style of a house/villa, quite intimate spaces. There is a Michelin star restaurant and champagne bar.  Extremely high standard and spectacular location.  Highly recommended.

Check in Santa Caterina & Gh Convento di Amalfi.  Most of our group stayed at the Santa Caterina, whilst 2 of us stayed at the Convento.

GH Convento di Amalfi

Hotel has been with NH hotels for 5 years. There is part of the old monastry attached to the hotel and there is a church where you can have a Catholic wedding if required.  Hotel is a mix of old and new.  Feels very fresh. However it is woth noting that you have to use a lift to access the hotel.  Hotel is a short distance to Amalfi, has fantastic sea views and a private beach.

On the last day we had breakfast at Santa Caterina- fabulous service, great choice, sea views on the outside terrace

5 star luxury hotel with classic Italian feel. Fantastic staff and beautiful facilities. Private pool and bathing area reached by external glass lift.

We then departed Amalfi by bus to visit Casa Angelina.

Situated in Praiano, a small resort on the Amalfi coast, with just a handful of restaurants and the exclusive Africana club.  Hotel is modern, fresh and has a young vibe.  There is a small indoor and outdoor pool and gym. Rooms are all white and most have beautiful views down to Positano.

I felt very sad to leave on the last day as I'd had an amazing few days in Ischia & Amalfi. I can highly recommend this area if your after a little luxury.
